The implication in psychotherapy of lovingkindness and compassion meditation

Recently, the psychological psychotherapies using mindfulness meditation have been called the 3rd cognitive behavioral therapy as the acceptance of thought rather than to change the contents of it. This study reviewed a lovingkindness-compassion mediation among mindfulness meditation and whether lovingkindness and compassion practices use to be a psychotherapeutic intervention. Frist, this study described what is the mechanism of cognitive behavior therapy and how is the mindfulness meditation to connect with the 3rd cognitive behavioral therapy. Second, í±Ýè mediation in the Eastern has been translated into compassion or loving-kindness(meditation) in english. This paper organized the concepts of loving-kindness and compassion mediation, which have been defined differently by many researchers. Third, this study reviewed research related to compassion and loving-kindness meditation and examined the effect of psychotherapeutic about it. Fourth, this study presented a few researcher¡¯s compassion and lovingkindness practices to apply the psychotherapeutic intervention. Finally, this study discussed the limit and implication of a lovingkindness-compassion mediation and the research direction of it.
